Currently, we offer two on-campus pathways for earning your Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential: the traditional, full-time student teaching pathway and the intership pathway. The intern pathway is based only on availability pending review of school districts demand for multiple subject interns. Therefore, it is offered on an "as needed" basis, with a high class enrollment. Individuals can earn the credential after obtaining the bachelor's degree or while in CSUMB's Liberal Studies Intergrated Program. The Intergrated Teacher Education Program (iTEP) is a joint pathway integrating the undergraduate Liberal Studies major with the post baccalaureate Multiple Subjects Teacher Credential Program.

Both credential pathways are designed for individuals who are interested in teaching in linguistically and culturally diverse elementary schools. Additionally, upon completion of the program, individuals will obtain the English Learner Authorization (ELA or CLAD). The ELA will authorize individuals to teach school children from non-English backgrounds, in settings where instruction is provided primarily through English.
