Requirements for AS-T certified students in Business

If you transferred into CSUMB as an AS-T-certified student in Business, you must complete the following courses for your bachelor's degree in Business Administration at CSUMB. If you are unsure about your transfer status, please talk to an advisor.

Complete all of the following courses:

• BUS 299: Decision Making w/ Excel
• BUS 300S: Business Ethics in Action
• BUS 304: BUS Com, Ethics & Crit Thkg
• BUS 305: Principles of Management
• BUS 306: Fundamentals of Marketing
• BUS 307: Finance
• BUS 308: Computer Information Systems
• BUS 309: Principles of Operations Mgmt OR BUS 311: Oprn Mgmnt -Service Orgs OR BUS 312: Principles of Hosp Oper Mgmt
• BUS 310: Entrepreneurship
• BUS 499: Strategic Mgmt (Sr Capstone)
• SBS 350: Domination & Resistance: US or SBS 385: Environmental History of CA (or any other upper division course approved to meet the D2 requirement)

Complete one of the following concentrations, or Business Administration majors with no chosen concentration must take a minimum of 16 units of upper division business electives in addition to the major core courses.

Accounting 

Complete all of the following courses:

• BUS 383: Intermediate Accounting I
• BUS 384: Intermediate Accounting II
• BUS 385: Income Tax I
• BUS 484: Advanced Accounting I

Students with an Accounting Concentration are strongly encouraged to take BUS 482: Audit I (Financial Auditing) or BUS 582: Auditing & Assurance as further preparation for the CPA exam.

Complete all of the following courses:

• BUS 433: Management of Nonprofit Organization

** Agribusiness students are required to have a foundation in Plant and Soil Science. Substitutions for these courses will only be approved if they relate to Plant and/or Soil Science and if they also meet General Education “B” area requirements.
