Capstone is the final requirement for every undergraduate at CSUMB. The capstone project provides students an opportunity to synthesize knowledge, skills, and abilities developed over the course of their learning experience at CSUMB. Additionally, capstone helps students understand how their knowledge connects to their interests, career goals, and roles as local, national and global community members.
Capstone experiences are informed by the CSUMB Vision and the Liberal Education and America's Promise (LEAP) Essential Learning Outcomes.
Projects reflect the discipline of the student’s major and may include: oral presentations, original poetry, oral histories, installation art, murals, photography, performances, original research, tabletop exhibits, films and videos, multimedia works, computer simulations. Every semester CSUMB celebrates student capstone work at the Capstone Festival.
