Total credits: 120 - 127, depending upon concentration
Minimum credits at CSUMB: 30
Total credits required for the major: 73
Upper-division credits in the major: 56
You officially begin the major when you declare Business Administration as your major to your academic advisor. We encourage you to declare as soon as you decide - even as early as freshman year because many upper-division courses have lower-division prerequisites.
You must declare prior to enrolling in BUS 300: Major ProSeminar, where you create or revise your Individual Learning Plan (ILP). That ILP maps out how you will achieve each of the Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) designated below by successfully completing the listed courses. Business Majors must take BUS 304: Reading, Writing & CT/Bus II which also satisfies GWAR. You conclude the major by completing one semester of Capstone coursework with BUS 499: Strategic Mgmt (Sr Capstone) and BUS 499L: Senior Capstone Lab.
CONCENTRATIONS:
Choosing a concentration is NOT required. Many students choose to have no concentration so that they can choose their courses from the entire range of electives we offer rather than being held to a short list. Your concentration is not listed on your diploma, only on your transcript. Business Administration majors with no chosen concentration must take a minimum of 16 units of upper division business electives in addition to the major core courses.
Major Requirements and Learning Outcomes are identified below. In order to graduate, students must also meet all general education and university requirements.
