Any student who seeks the degree in Japanese Language and Culture should contact a faculty advisor, either Dr. Yoshiko Saito-Abbott or Dr. Shigeko Sekine, who will help you develop a graduation pathway. We encourage all students of Japanese to participate in a semester or longer of study abroad. Timely planning is essential for a successful study abroad experience, so don't wait until you have entered the Major Pro-Seminar. We recommend you make a plan while you are in your lower division coursework as you enroll in second year Japanese. In the Major ProSeminar, you prepare your Individual Learning Plan and work with your advisor.
