LEARNING OUTCOMES
The outcomes listed below (drawn from the undergraduate majors in CHHS and BUS) encompass the knowledge, skills and abilities that students are expected to master to successfully complete the minor in Nonprofit Management. Students must demonstrate competency in the following outcomes:
CHHS MLOs
LO 1 Collaboration ~ ability to work in teams in interprofessional settings across traditional lines of programs, agencies, disciplines and diverse communities to establish and achieve common missions and purposes and to collaborate with others in decision making, learning, completing tasks and applying knowledge of group process and group interaction.
LO 2 Financial Management ~ ability to demonstrate the understanding of financial management of public agencies and nonprofit organizations, including accounting for donor intent, grant proposal writing, adherence to regulations and contract obligations and audit requirements.
LO 3 Leadership ~ ability to understand and begin to master the ability to motivate others by promoting a shared vision and the skills necessary to set clear direction for collaborative implementation and sustained change in interprofessional settings and diverse communities.
LO 4 Systems Management ~ ability to demonstrate an understanding of and begin to develop the skills necessary to manage complex systems of health and human service delivery.
LO 5 Professional Communication ~ ability to develop and maintain a flow of information between senders and receivers through use of critical listening skills and oral and written communication; ability to communicate both basic and complex ideas to a variety of groups; demonstrate an appreciation of the organizational and cultural contexts within which the communication will occur; and can conduct professional quality oral and electronic presentations.
BUS MLOs

LO 3 Finance ~ ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and projections, analyze a proposed project or investment, identify and evaluate sources of financing, and understand accounting and financial reporting from an ethical and strategic perspective.
LO 4 Operations Management ~ ability to improve operational productivity of an enterprise, improve strategic decisions and consistently deliver quality products and services which satisfy customer needs.

COURSES
The minor in Nonprofit Management includes courses to be taken by students with junior or senior standing and is designed to be completed in three or four semesters, although concurrent enrollment in two or more courses in the minor is also a possibility.
