Computer Science and Information Technology B.S. ~ Typical Pathways

The CSIT program has developed sample pathways (semester-by-semester course recommendations) to help students navigate a timely route to graduation. For CSIT majors who enter CSUMB as freshmen, this involves completing some of the requirements by taking courses that count for two University Learning Requirements (ULRs) or for both a ULR and a CSIT Major Learning Outcome (MLO). Each of the following course pathways provides an example of a course sequence a student could follow to satisfy the ULRs, Graduation Learning Outcomes, and MLOs as a CSIT major. It assumes that the student has already completed the coursework identified on the Preparation page. These pathways are only examples and assume a certain level of math proficiency at the beginning of the CSIT major. Other pathways will also work, and students may begin at a different level of math than that shown in the pathways.

If you have any questions regarding the CSIT program, feel free to email the CSIT Peer Advisor at csit@csumb.edu or visit the Peer Advising office in the Media Learning Center, Room 150.
