As a CHHS graduate, you will be very well prepared for careers in health and social service fields, including community health education and promotion, community advocacy or mediation, legislative advocacy, medical clinic coordination, nonprofit management, law enforcement, probation, public health, public policy analysis, social work and youth services.

Organizations that have hired CHHS graduates include numerous public agencies and nonprofit organizations, both in the Monterey Bay area and across the western states.

Public agencies that have hired CHHS graduates include: Tehama County Health Services, Merced County Probation Department, Salinas Police Department, Monterey County Department of Social and Employment Services, U.S. Probation Department, Marina Police Department, State of Hawaii Health Department, Santa Cruz County Probation Department, Lake County Community Hospital, U.S. Veterans Service Center and Far Northern Regional Center.

Private nonprofit organizations that have hired CHHS graduates include: Interim Incorporated (residential and supportive services for people with mental illness), Visiting Nurse Association, Alliance on Aging, Jacob's Heart (services for children with cancer), Kinship Center (services relating to foster care and adoption), Central Coast Center for Independent Living, American Lung Association, Rebuilding Together (home rehabilitation for low-income homeowners), Monterey County Rape Crisis Center, Autism Partnership, Junior Blind of America and American Red Cross.

Graduate Study

Since the first graduating class in 1998, nearly 95 percent of CHHS graduates who have applied for admission to graduate programs have been accepted. They have been successful because of HHSPP's commitment to excellence and their own commitment to continuing their professional development.

With excellent academic preparation and field-based experience, CHHS graduates have been accepted into a variety of graduate degree programs including public health (M.P.H.); social work (M.S.W.); public policy (M.P.P.); public administration (M.P.A.); criminal justice (M.A. or M.S.); counseling (M.F.C.C.); business (M.B.A.); and law (J.D.).

CHHS graduates have attended a number of prestigious graduate programs, including those at California State University campuses (San Jose, San Diego, Stanislaus, Sacramento, East Bay, Fresno, Long Beach, Chico, San Francisco and San Bernardino), University of Michigan, University of Hawaii, University of Southern California, Arizona State University, Brigham Young University, University of California at Berkeley and Monterey College of Law, among others.
