Collaborative Health and Human Services B.A. ~ Academic Advising and Support

The CHHS faculty and student peer advisers are strongly committed to providing you with direct one-on-one advising and referral to additional campus resources.

Freshmen and sophomores work with the Undergraduate Advising Center for guidance on University Learning Requirements (ULRs) and their General Education learning experiences.

As juniors entering the CHHS major, students can meet with a peer advisor or faculty advisors, who will guide them to make sure they are making progress on their Individual Learning Plan (ILP).

The CHHS Field Program Coordinator advises and assists majors with meeting their field-based course requirements for graduation.

For more information on these services, or for more information on the role of advising in the department, contact our CHHS Peer Advisor at 831-582-4163, visit our website, email us at chhsadvising@csumb.edu, or stop by our office in Ocean Hall, Suite D.

CHHS has a strong collaborative relationship with the Academic Skills Achievement Program for students who need assistance with writing skills, and with the Personal Growth and Counseling Center for students who need to deal with personal issues and to optimize decision-making, problem-solving, communication, stress management, and conflict resolution skills.
