The Social Work Minor offers classroom and field-based learning opportunities.
HHSPP campus classes are small, highly interactive, and utilize all aspects of our technologically advanced campus. Experienced social work practitioners teach the Personal and Professional Ethics and Introduction to Social Work classes.
Our extensive field placement program matches more than 80 students with community agencies each semester. These placements provide opportunities for SW Minors to develop expertise with a service population group (e.g., children, seniors, or a particular ethnic group) or within a social problem area (e.g., child welfare, juvenile justice, or AIDS). The Field Placement Seminar supports students while they are in the field. The placement also meets the CSUMB upper-division Service Learning requirement for graduation.
