Center for Advising, Career and Student Success

The Center for Advising, Career and Student Success is the one-stop office for students seeking academic and career advising, as well as other academic resources related to staying on course to graduate. The center's advisors focus on helping students understand academic requirements, provide assistance in choosing a career, and offer resources and skill development when academic difficulties arise. Students who regularly meet with advisors are knowledgeable about the campus resources available to help them become self-reliant navigators of their academic and career objectives.

Academic advisors actively assist students during their freshmen and sophomore years with course selection based on their academic and career goals, university requirements, and course pathway recommendations so that students can graduate in a timely manner. The center's academic advising staff also assists upper-division students when departmental advising is not available.

Career advisors prepare students to make informed decisions about their futures by providing resources, programs and counseling on career development, internships, networking, employment opportunities, and graduate school. They can also assist students who are still deciding on a chosen major.

Student success advisors enhance achievement by supporting students who are seeking increased academic engagement. They offer academic goal development, support for probationary students, and resources for transfer and re-entry students. They also host workshops for academic and personal development.
