Statistics Minor Learning Outcomes (LOs)

LO #1: Statistics Foundations
Students must demonstrate a depth of statistical knowledge and apply their statistical knowledge to both theoretical and applied problems.
To demonstrate the required competency for LO#1, students must received a grade C or higher in one of the following two courses
STAT 320: Mathematical Statistics
MATH 320: Probability and Statistics
LO #2 Advanced Statistics Applications
Students must demonstrate the ability to apply advanced statistics principles and methods to solve problems from their field of study.
To demonstrate the required competency for LO#2, students must received a grade C or higher in one of the following courses.
STAT 395: Special Topics
PSY 301: Adv/Psychological Statistics & PSY 301L: Adv/Psychological Stat Lab
SBS 366: Rsrch Mthd for SBS:Quant Emph & SBS 366L: Rsrch Mthd SBS:Quan Emph Lab
ENVS 350: Quantitative Field Methds

LO #3 Technology and Statistical Software
Students must be demonstrate the ability to analyze, compare and evaluate the appropriateness of technological tools and their uses in Statistics, and use statistical software to conduct investigations, make conjectures, and solve problems.
To demonstrate the required competency for LO#3, students must received a grade C or higher in
one of the following courses.
