Contemporary Studies: 120 units
Students will complete core courses, Major Learning Outcomes and courses specific to their chosen concentration in order to succesfully complete their degree in Music. Students are required to take a Musicianship and Theory placement assessment and complete a diagnostic audition.
Major Requirements and Learning Outcomes are identified below. In order to graduate, students must also meet all general education and university requirements.
Core Courses
- Complete all of the following
- MPA 110: Keyboard I (1 unit)
- MPA 210: Keyboard II (1 unit)
- MPA 101: Musicianship & Theory I (4 units)
- MPA 102: Musicianship & Theory 2 (4 units)
- MPA 300: Major ProSeminar (2 units)
- Take each semester of junior and senior year:
- MPA 440: Master Classes/Lecture Demos (1 unit)
- Take two semesters of:
- MPA 475: Senior Capstone (2 units)
