World Languages and Cultures B.A. ~ Transfer Pathway for Spanish Emphasis
If you enter CSUMB as a junior transfer with at least 60 transferable units and have completed your General Education requirements including four semesters of language, the following would be a typical pathway that you might follow to complete the requirements for the WLC major with Spanish as your emphasized language.
Because CSUMB is outcomes-based, this chronological pathway lists each target outcome first either as an MLO (Major Learning Outcome) or ULR/GLO (University Learning Requirements / Graduation Learning Outcomes). It then shows courses aligned with those outcomes along with credits and an indication of when they are offered. For more information on a course-including title, credits, description, and prerequisites-click its number. For more information on an outcome, click on its abbreviated name.
This pathway, intended as a reference, models graduation after earning 60 credits at CSUMB. It is unlikely that your actual pathway will look exactly like the model due to several factors:
You must earn nine upper-division General Education credits after you have reached upper-division status. Upper-division GE courses taken when you are a lower-division student do not count toward this requirement.
MLO | ULR/GLO | Course | When | CR
F | Every fall | 2 | |||
S | - | SPAN 310 or 321 | Every fourth semester | 4
F | - | SPAN 426 or 425 | Every fourth semester | 4
S | - | WLC 400 | Every spring | 4 |
*Assessment for MLO 7 and MLO 8 is not course based. These experience-based MLOs are assessed in WLC 400.
