World Languages and Cultures B.A. ~ Transfer Pathway for Japanese Emphasis

If you enter CSUMB as a junior transfer with at least 60 transferable units and have completed your General Education requirements including four semesters of language, the following would be a typical pathway that you might follow to complete the requirements for the WLC major with Japanese as your emphasized language.

This pathway, intended as a reference, models graduation after earning 60 credits at CSUMB. It is unlikely that your actual pathway will look exactly like the model due to several factors:

• The number of credits you transfer into CSUMB with, and how those credits articulate with CSUMB requirements
• Whether or not you need to take additional coursework to meet the Technology and Information ULR as a Graduation Learning Outcome (This pathway assumes you have not met this requirement prior to your first semester at CSUMB. If you have, you can adjust your coursework accordingly in consultation with your major advisor.)
• Actual availability of courses during a given semester
• Personal choices you make in your Individual Learning Plan—in consultation with your major advisors—including the decision to pursue more than the minimal learning requirements

You must earn nine upper-division General Education credits after you have reached upper-division status. Upper-division GE courses taken when you are a lower-division student do not count toward this requirement.
