Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures Minor ~ Learning Environment

Because our university is located in Monterey County, where the Hispanic/Latino population approximates 47% of the total population (about 195,000 out of 415,000 inhabitants), and because CSUMB is a HACU institution (an institution of higher learning whose Hispanic student population is at least 25 percent of its total), the students in this minor will have ample opportunity to intermingle and engage with heritage speakers of the Spanish language, and experience Latino culture firsthand.
