Requirements for AS-T Certified Students in Business Administration

If you transferred into CSUMB as an AS-T-certified student in Business, you must complete the following courses for your bachelor's degree in Business Administration at CSUMB. If you are unsure about your transfer status, please talk to an advisor.

Major Core Requirements

Complete ALL of the following courses:

  • BUS 304BUS 304: BUS Com, Ethics & Crit Thkg
  • BUS 305BUS 305: Principles of Management
  • BUS 306BUS 306: Fundamentals of Marketing
  • BUS 307BUS 307: Finance
  • BUS 308BUS 308: Computer Information Systems
  • BUS 309BUS 309: Principles of Operations Mgmt  OR  BUS 311BUS 311: Oprn Mgmnt -Service Orgs  OR BUS 312BUS 312: Principles of Hosp Oper Mgmt
  • BUS 310BUS 310: Entrepreneurship
  • BUS 499BUS 499: Strategic Mgmt (Sr Capstone)
  • SBS 350SBS 350: Domination & Resistance: US or SBS 385SBS 385: Environmental History of CA (or any other upper division course approved to meet the D2 requirement)

Concentration or Elective Business Courses

Select from the following concentrations, or Business Administration majors with no chosen concentration must take a minimum of 16 units of upper division business electives in addition to the major core courses. 

Accounting  
Complete ALL of the following courses:

  • BUS 484BUS 484: Advanced Accounting I

Students with an Accounting Concentration are strongly encouraged to take BUS 482BUS 482: Audit I (Financial Auditing) or BUS 582BUS 582: Auditing & Assurance as further preparation for the CPA exam.

Agribusiness 

Complete ALL of the following courses:
  • CHEM 109CHEM 109: Introductory Chemistry **
  • ENVS 201ENVS 201: Intro to Environmental Science **
  • BUS 435BUS 435: Supply Chain Mgmt: Agribus 
  • BUS 434BUS 434: Policy/Reg in Env Agribus
Complete TWO of the following courses:
  • BUS 322BUS 322: Integrated Mktg Com
  • BUS 330BUS 330: Human Resources Management
  • BUS 421BUS 421: Marketing Research
  • BUS 454BUS 454: Adv Agribusiness Cr & Fin
  • BUS 425BUS 425: Global Marketing

** Agribusiness students are required to have a foundation in Plant and Soil Science. Substitutions for these courses will only be approved if they relate to Plant and/or Soil Science and if they also meet General Education “B” area requirements.

Entrepreneurship/Intrapreneurship 
Complete ALL of the following courses:

AND Students must take any two additional upper division BUS electives for 8 units.

Hospitality Management
