Liberal Studies B.A. ~ Overview

The Liberal Studies B.A. prepares you with a solid professional career foundation for entry into teacher education credential studies and graduate study. Our outcomes-based, multidisciplinary major integrates the arts and humanities, natural and social sciences, and service learning. We emphasize breadth across a variety of disciplines with a subject area emphasis in at least one academic discipline.

The Liberal Studies Distributed Degree Completion Program allows completion of the major by offering some courses completely online and some hybrid courses that require one to four on-campus meetings in addition to online work.

Human Development

The Liberal Studies Integrated Multiple Subjects Program allows you to complete the Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential sooner and begin working in the field. Integrated means that you can complete your undergraduate degree and your multiple subjects credential in 135 units (roughly 4.5 years for freshman or 5 semesters for transfer students). Essentially, students complete the first semester of teaching credential coursework in their last semester of their senior year as undergraduates.
