Business Administration B.S. ~ Hotel/Resort Management ~ Freshman Pathway

Because we have built our academic programs on an outcomes-based education model, you have latitude in designing an Individual Learning Plan to achieve your personal target outcomes while also satisfying University Learning Requirements, Graduation Learning Outcomes, and Major Learning Outcomes.

This pathway, intended as a reference, shows a productive route to graduation in four years.  Your actual pathway may not look exactly like the model due to several factors:

• Any required remedial courses, such as MATH 098 and WRT 095
• Actual availability of courses during a given semester
• Personal choices you make in your Individual Learning Plan – in consultation with your First Year Seminar professor, and the business student peer advisors – including the decision to pursue more than the minimal learning requirements

The purpose of the degree pathway is to serve as a guide for planning one’s academic coursework required to complete a specific major semester by semester. The roadmap is subject to change and is NOT to be considered a replacement for advisement with an academic advisor. Students who choose majors that require a minor should take this into consideration when customizing their own academic plan.

Special Note: 

1) Entry Level Skills Tests: Student may need to complete remedial English and Math courses, based on the ELM/ EPT exams. Students who need remedial courses should plan at least one additional semester in their individual pathways. 

2) Language Requirement: Freshmen will need to acquire language proficiency through the third level (101, 102, and 201). Students with proficiency in a language (whether from coursework completed in high school or fluency) should consult with the World Languages and Cultures Department for either placement levels or to assess out of language requirements.
