Complete at least 3 semester or 4 quarter units in each of the following.

Area B: Physical Universe and Its Life Forms

Complete at least 3 semester or 4 quarter units in each of the following.

• B1: Physical Universe
• B2: Life Forms
• B3: Laboratory Activity
• B4: Mathematical Concepts, Quantitative Reasoning & Applications

Area C: Arts, Literature, Philosophy & Foreign Language

Complete at least 3 semester (or 4 quarter units) in both of the following and an additional 3 semester (or 4 quarter units) from either C1 or C2.

• C1: Arts (Art, Dance, Theater, Music, Photography)
• C2: Humanities (Literature, Philosophy, Foreign Language)

Area D: Social, Political, and Economic Institutions

Complete at least 9 semester or 12 quarter units with courses in at least two of the following disciplines.

• D2: Economics
• D3: Ethnic Studies
• D4: Gender Studies
• D5: Geography
• D6: History
• D7: Interdisciplinary Social or Behavioral Science

Area E: Lifelong Understanding and Self Development

Complete at least 3 semester or 4 quarter units in the following.
