Interdisciplinary Master of Arts with Instructional Science and Technology Emphasis ~ PreparationThe Interdisciplinary Master of Arts with Instructional Science and Technology Emphasis (IST) seeks students who represent diverse perspectives, backgrounds, life experiences and interests and are dynamic and highly motivated to improve quality of life for individuals and the effectiveness of organizations through the application of instructional science and technology. Students from a variety of academic backgrounds are eligible for admission. Basic computer and internet skills and knowledge must be demonstrated before entrance to the degree program. The Admissions Committee looks for strong evidence of a commitment to the CSUMB Vision and to the application of the principles of instructional science and technology. Professional experience will be considered in addition to transcripts and test scores. Although professional experience is not required it is encouraged, because such experience adds tremendous value to the learning environment and helps develop a context for integrating key program content and ideas.
