Mathematics B.S. ~ Secondary Teaching Concentration Freshman Pathway

The purpose of the degree pathway is to serve as a guide for planning one's academic coursework required to complete a specific major semester by semester. The roadmap is subject to change and is NOT to be considered a replacement for advisement with an academic advisor. Students who choose majors that require a minor should take this into consideration when customizing their own academic plan.

Special Note:

1) Entry Level Skills Tests: Student may need to complete remedial English and math courses, based on the ELM/EPT exams. Students who need remedial courses should plan at least one additional semester in their individual pathways.

2) Language Requirement: Freshmen majoring in MATH will need to acquire language proficiency through the third level (101, 102, 201).

Students with proficiency in a language (whether from coursework completed in high school or fluency) should consult with the World Languages and Cultures Department for either placement levels or to assess out of language requirements..

You must earn nine upper-division General Education credits after you have reached upper-division status. Upper-division GE courses taken when you are a lower-division student do not count toward this requirement.
