Instructional Science and Technology, M.A. ~ Learning Environment
Our campus location is a huge asset. The beautiful Monterey Bay region offers a perfect place to meet your MIST faculty and the other students in your cohort. It lies only an hour from Silicon Valley, the greatest concentration of hardware and software producers in the world, and two hours from San Francisco, home to scores of creative designers and content developers. We have established working relationships with a number of trendsetting companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Macromedia, Apple, and Cisco Systems. These companies provide us with the latest in hardware and software, and advise us as our dynamic program evolves. They also provide internship and employment opportunities for our students.
The CSUMB Library is open late evenings and on weekends. It provides both workspace and computer facilities for students.
The ITCD graduate laboratory—in addition to the numerous computer laboratories that serve the entire CSUMB student population—is equipped with networked personal computers, printer, and reference materials. Applied learning projects are completed in the many computer laboratories.
A state-of-the-art converged gigabit Ethernet network supports the integration of data, voice, and video services for students both on campus and off campus. Wireless access to this network exists across the main CSUMB campus. The network infrastructures support live and on-demand access to streaming video, allowing support for interactive television, video and audio conferencing, whiteboards, and more.
