First Year Seminar has nine learning outcomes to give you a solid foundation for your university learning:
1. Students demonstrate college-level comprehension and critical analysis of various media, texts, and content.
2. Students investigate the CSUMB academic model, Vision, and core values.
3. Students build an academic learning community that fosters cross-cultural communication.
4. Students reflect on their participation, interactions, and engagement in their academic experiences.
5. Students show understanding of diverse perspectives: personal, cultural, and global.
6. Students explore their personal and cultural identities, and articulate how these identities affect their experiences as learners and thinkers.
7. Students apply and relate knowledge from personal and cultural perspectives to texts across disciplines and cultures as a foundation for lifelong learning.
8. Students collaborate ethically with others to complete assignments.
9. Students express themselves using effective college-level writing and oral communication.
