The CHHS faculty and student peer advisers are strongly committed to providing you with direct one-on-one advising and referral to additional campus resources. Freshmen and sophomores work with a CHHS advisor to complete their University Learning Requirements (ULRs) and the lower-division CHHS prerequisites. CHHS majors meet with their faculty advisor at least once per semester, to make sure they are making progress on their Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
The CHHS Field Program Coordinator advises and assists majors with meeting their field-based course requirements for graduation.
For more information on these services, or for more information on the role of advising in the department, contact our CHHS Peer Advisor at 831-582-3565, visit our website, or stop by our office in Building 86D.
CHHS students work with Student Academic Advising for guidance on ULRs and their General Education learning experiences. CHHS has a strong collaborative relationship with the Academic Skills Achievement Program for students who need assistance with writing skills, and with the Personal Growth and Counseling Center for students who need to deal with personal issues and to optimize decision-making, problem-solving, communication, stress-management, and conflict-resolution skills.
