Environmental Science, Technology & Policy B.S.~ Academic Advising and Support
If you intend to be an Environmental Science, Technology & Policy major, you should select any science on the CSU application. You may declare Environmental Science, Technology & Policy as your major as soon as you enter CSUMB. If you are a CSUMB student who wishes to become an Environmental Science, Technology & Policy student, you should request a change of major via the CMS Peoplesoft online advising system.
Though you can consult the course pathways as general guides to planning your coursework to complete the Environmental Science, Technology & Policy requirements, whether simply interested or already a declared Environmental Science, Technology & Policy major, you should consult an Environmental Science, Technology & Policy advisor as soon as possible. We welcome inquiries from both current and prospective students. While you are a freshman or sophomore, your Environmental Science, Technology & Policy advisor will guide you through your ULRs (General Education Breadth Requirements) and the lower-division prerequisites in MLO 1 and MLO 2. In your junior year, when you take ESSP 300, you will select a faculty advisor to help you plan your final semesters at CSUMB based on your goals and strengths.
You are strongly encouraged to meet in person with your Environmental Science, Technology & Policy advisor each semester. Your advisor will help you plan your CSUMB courses using an Environmental Science, Technology & Policy Individual Learning Plan. The ILP is a form that allows you to list the classes you will take to fulfill each Environmental Science, Technology & Policy Major Learning Outcomes and the CSUMB University Learning Requirements. The ILP form and other advising documents are available from the Environmental Science, Technology & Policy advising website.
