College of Professional Studies ~ Dean & Staff
The CPS is the academic home of bachelor degree programs in Business, Collaborative Health and Human Services, Kinesiology, and Liberal Studies. We also offer single-subject, multiple-subject, and special education teaching credentials. In addition, we administer this region's CalStateTEACH Program. At the graduate level, we offer master's degrees in Public Policy and in Education and, beginning in January 2008, in collaboration with CSUMB's Extended Education program, an Executive MBA program.
The heart and soul of any university is its faculty and that is certainly true in the CPS. The CPS faculty are truly a distinguished group, bringing with them valuable teaching and research capabilities and also fascinating backgrounds in professional practice. With this talented faculty and CSUMB's unique approach to outcomes-based education, I promise each potential student a rich and rewarding educational experience. Potential faculty members will find in the CPS a collection of supportive colleagues and ample opportunity to advance professionally.
Like all the other organizational units on campus, the CPS is guided by the CSUMB Vision Statement (CSUMB.EDU/vision). We seek to produce students who will be leaders in their respective fields and who, guided by ethical reflection and a commitment to community service, will move our society and indeed the global community into being the healthier, more compassionate, and more just world it can be. We invite you to be part of this endeavor and welcome your inquiries.
