Tuition & Fees ~ Schedule of Fees

Legal residents of California are not charged tuition. The information on these pages reflects applicable systemwide fees and nonresident tuition. Fees may vary from one academic year or semester to the next. Thus, you should use the left navigation to select a specific year or semester to view its schedule of registration fees, nonresident tuition, and other fees and charges. Because fees are subject to change without notice, you should check them at the time of registration to ensure that you have seen the current amounts. You can call the Campus Service Center or check the CSUMB.EDU/calendar webpages to determine registration dates each semester.

Notes
  • Starting with Spring 2007 semester, you will not be required to pay tuition and campus fees prior to registering for classes.  However, payment not received by the designated due date will result in being disenrolled from your classes  (see section on Tuition/Fees Deadlines).
  • Fees for auditing are the same as for credit.
  • Mandatory systemwide fees are waived for those individuals who qualify for such exemption under the provisions of the California Education Code (see section on Fee Waivers).

Fee Allocation

A fee advisory committee comprised of a student majority provides advice to the campus president about charging student fees and allocating campus-based fee revenue. Resources from the materials, services, and facilities fee are used to support a variety of services, and currently are allocated to support health services, instructionally related activities, transportation, childcare, and university services (includes ID card, transcripts, campus catalog, graduation/diploma). The allocation to transportation supports alternative modes of transportation, including the shuttle service, but does not include a parking permit. If you elect to purchase a parking permit, you will pay an additional fee as noted in Other Fees and Charges.

Note: Adopted at the California State University system level and mandated for inclusion in all CSU campus catalogs , gray-colored text applies to  all 23 campuses in the system. Black text pertains uniquely to CSUMB.
