An innovative undergraduate program offering an applied learning environment, Teledramatic Arts and Technology prepares you for the evolving forms of storytelling resulting from digital and networked technologies. We prepare you for the professional fields of art and entertainment by providing an integrated and multidisciplinary study based in theatre, radio, film, television, and new media. These disciplines combine to explore the evolving forms resulting from media convergence, digital technologies, and telecommunications.
The term teledramatic conceptually embraces our unique blend of the creative, technical, and critical thinking skills essential for the development, production, and distribution of artistic work across a broad spectrum of venues.
Collaborative, project-based courses prepare you to explore new ways of storytelling. Most recently, TAT courses have produced motion graphics based Public Service Announcements for local PBS affiliates KTEH San Jose and KCAH Monterey; programming for the OtterStream Internet-streamed radio, KAZU, Santa Cruz X and KPFA radio stations; documentaries for the Pacific Grove Museum, the Monterey Maritime Museum, and the Steinbeck Museum; new performance environments using GPS-enabled wireless PDAs for an international presentation through CSUMB's Wireless Education Technology Center; and alternate-reality gaming for the Naval Postgraduate School.
