The Faculty Mentor Program helps you navigate your first-year experience by offering the support of peer and faculty mentors. FMP provides special attention to first-generation, reentry, and transfer students. By encouraging faculty-student interactions that will extend beyond the first year, FMP seeks to improve student retention and academic success.
FMP holds small academic-success workshops throughout the year on a range of subjects including health and wellness, time management, study skills, test-taking, and academic and career planning. FMP training sessions include how to listen effectively, how to recognize student learning disabilities, and how to best utilize campus resources. Both workshops and training sessions build leadership skills, sense of community, and faculty-student relations. FMP also works to build a sense of community and provide mentoring services for online learners, an expanding group of CSUMB students.
You will find detailed information on the FMP website.
