The Psychology Minor provides many of the required courses for admission to graduate school in psychology. Psychology is "the science of behavior and mental processes." Understanding human behavior requires the study of human biology, psychological experience and learning, and cultural context.
The Psychology Minor enhances your understanding of academic curricula in many other programs on campus. When combined with any major, it will expand your own special interests and career opportunities in areas related to human behavior. Specifically the Psychology Minor supports many applied research areas and in fields such as classroom teaching, preschool teaching, business, human services, social work, gerontology, probation and law enforcement, and other health and human service careers.
All the courses in the Psychology Minor transfer to baccalaureate degree programs accredited by the American Psychological Association. The minor does not provide sufficient undergraduate preparation for the minimum entry requirements to an APA-accredited graduate program without extensive additional upper-division coursework.
