Ronnie Higgs, Ph.D.

Interim Vice President for Student Affairs

Dr. Ronnie Higgs joined CSUMB in February 2007 as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and, in August 2008, assumed the role of Interim Vice President for Student Affairs until a permanent vice president is hired. Dr. Higgs oversees all areas of the student affairs division which includes: enrollment management, early outreach, residential life, student activities, campus health, associated students, career services, and personal growth & counseling services.

Dr. Higgs came to campus from Ferris State University in Michigan, where he served as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Enrollment Services for seven years. In that position, he oversaw all areas of enrollment management, financial aid, and NCAA compliance.

Dr. Higgs holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University, and a Master’s in Education from Ferris State University. He has served on various boards and committees, both nationally and regionally, and is currently serving on the board for the Center for Community Advocacy in Monterey County. He also has officiated NCAA Division I basketball and is currently a high school football official.
